Super-Mix series

At Satake, we think about mixing as a flow subject. Of course, thinking about the process is also important. However, rather than complicating fluid equipment, we systematically organize matters to simplify the equipment's performance from a flow perspective so that it can deliver the required mixing action. From this perspective, the blades can be said to be the "critical factor" to achieve the subdivided mixing purposes in all fields.

As general mixing blades, 3-bladed propellers, 4-bladed pitched paddles, and 6-bladed flat (pitched) turbines, etc. are used for the high Re (Reynolds Number) range, while anchor blades and helical ribbon blades, etc. are used in the low Re region. However, these cannot said to be perfect for achieving diversification and sophistication of mixing purposes in recent years.

Therefore, we are advancing research and development based on the theory of blades, with regard to high-performance mixing blades that satisfy the mixing purpose, and by further examining the precise operating conditions, we continue our efforts to do everything we can to meet the needs of our customers. The mixing blade born out of this approach is called the Super Mix Series. Here we introduce one example.

An energy-saving low shear mixing blade which suppresses flow separation at the back surface of the blade by adopting a multistage curved structure based on study of the blade plane shape, angle of attack and camber ratio.

Super-Mix HR700

Super-Mix HR700

It is a twist-down circular arc blade that adopts a moderate advancing blade shape. The blade plane shape, angle of attack, and camber ratio are important factors affecting the performance of the blade. The HR700 impeller is a high discharge type impeller with extremely high discharge performance.

It is a 2-bladed structure, developed based on extensive research of 3-wide-bladed impellers and auxiliary blades. We succeeded in greatly increasing discharge flow rate and maximum discharge speed by negating the separation generated on the back of the main blade due to the slot effect in the gap flap.

We adopted the advancing blade effect and further made a one-step curved structure with a washout toward the tip of the blade. This is a mixing blade for low speed mixers which suppresses flow separation on the back surface of the blade and improves discharge performance.

Based on HR320, it adopts a 2-bladed structure. Considering the vibration due to mixing near the bottom of the tank and the liquid level passage, it is a mixing blade which features anti-vibration measures using a unique blade tip plate.

We adopted a 2-bladed structure where the main blade is a taper blade, which adopts an angle of attack to suppress separation, and enhances discharge from the blade center. This mixing blade efficiently achieves slurry floating and fluidization at low power.

Super-Mix HS600

The HS600 series impeller has been researched and developed as a mixing device including a mixing tank, not just a single blade. By controlling the pressure distribution in the tank, it can be said that the HS600 series impeller has improved the mixing effect for "uniform dispersion systems" including solid-liquid and slurry mixing.

We achieved a very low power number for a turbine. (vs. 6FT power factor ratio: about 65% reduction) Compared to conventional turbines, it has high liquid fluidizing action and high gas absorption performance is obtained. It concentrates the flow by the lift of the blade with low power and generates a strong shearing / destructive action by utilizing the pressure gradient / variation of the discharge field.

HS124ND/HS134ND

It is a turbine blade with high gas absorption performance developed to further enhance gas absorption performance. Each of the upper and lower blades has an effective discharge action and achieves even higher gas absorption performance and demand OTR.

The rotor / stator of the mixing head has conical shapes, each of which has many 1/4 hemispherical cavities. When the rotor is rotated at a high speed, the liquid is sucked from the small diameter side of the mixing head part and passes under shear through a narrow gap between the rotor and the stator. In addition, violent vortices are generated on both sides of the rotor and the stator inside the cavities formed on both sides of the gap, and the vortices collide vigorously and a strong dispersing and crushing action is applied.

A distribution form (umbrella) created by the upper disc and used for spraying thin films of liquid promotes improved suction (lifting) efficiency on the liquid surface and efficiency of gas absorption.

An impeller for the purpose of "absorption of gas from the liquid surface" typified by hydrogen addition reactions. With this characteristic blade shape, high blade tip peripheral speed is obtained without changing the mixing energy or rotation speed. As a result, a strong drawing flow is formed from the liquid surface to the bottom of the tank and a strong discharge flow is formed from the bottom of the tank, achieving highly efficient gas absorption performance.

Super-Mix MR203

The MR203 impeller is a special large-sized wide blade mainly developed for the purpose of medium to low Re range and has high mixing performance. Satake's unique saw blade type shape, trapezoidal shape towards the bottom of the tank, and central clearance effect create a large circulation flow with a strong suction flow. It is suitable especially when adherence is undesirable or when washability is important.

It is a large wide blade with a double blade effect. Due to the pressure difference between the front of the main blade and the auxiliary blade surface, a strong discharge flow can be obtained in the radial direction even with a high viscosity liquid. Also, by making the blade diameter under the main blade part large and trapezoidal, a strong upward flow toward the liquid surface from the bottom of the tank is also created. In addition, by making the main blade notch part into a saw blade shape, we realized uniform mixing by completely eliminating the mixing failure part.

The MR 210 impeller is a highly efficient mixing blade that not only improves mixing performance but also contributes to power reduction. This was achieved by examining the blade area in the vertical direction in consideration of the pressure distribution in the tank in addition to strengthening the suction flow from the liquid surface due to the clearance effect of the main blade and shaft in order to obtain effective fluid fluidization action and mixing action with a simple structure and a small blade area.

It is an impeller aimed at solving the problems of liquid level fluctuation, viscosity change and slow heating in polymerization reaction tanks, etc. As a feature, by making the cross section of the impeller a labyrinth structure, the heat medium or coolant injected from the shaft passes through the impeller without short-passing. By doing so, efficient use of heat transfer can be achieved by utilizing the impeller itself as a heat transfer surface.

This realizes higher efficiency of heat transfer operation such as shortening of cooling time over a wide viscosity range from low to ultra high viscosity liquids. High heat transfer performance is achieved due to the synergistic effect of strong heat mixing between the internal fluid and scraped liquid due to the efficient "scraping" of the heat transfer surface created by the scrape blade and the specially shaped main blade.

It is a center axis-less superimposed mixing blade which succeeds in greatly improving the mixing performance in the super high viscosity range (Re Number 1 or less) which was difficult to mix in mixing tanks in the past. We have installed a bottom blade to generate a strong upstream and downward flow by blades that are inclined in multiple stages and further strengthen mixing at the bottom of the tank. The inclined blades realize high mixing performance.

Satake Floatingmag Mixer is a base type mug mixer with the self-floating type impeller. It's excellent in sanitariness by the impeller which can be removed easily, own washing bearing and the simple structure.
A specification on one ranks is offered to an impeller by adopting high-performance beat wing super mixed HS604MB.

The compound dasher which was equipped with 2 kinds of beat wing different in an action.
A super mixed MR210 impeller is adopted as a low-speed axis and the high homogeneous mixing performance is shown in sounai. On the other hand, it's possible to adopt a super share blender as a high-speed axis and disperse efficiently and be emulsify. On the other hand, I adopt a super share mixer, and the high-speed axis can perform dispersion, emulsification efficiently. Furthermore, as for the flow from the high-speed axis side, more uniform mixed performance increases to strengthen the flow of the MR210 impeller.

Established as a system to form flow patterns that cannot be imagined from the concept of conventional mixing. "Radial blades" create a swirling flow in the mixing tank using the impeller and efficiently exchange the swirling flow toward the center at the bottom of the mixing tank (boundary layer effect) into a tornado-shaped upward flow. Since the swirling flow is the main flow, it is possible to efficiently perform low shear mixing such as for biotechnology, medicine and water treatment by reducing the relative speed difference near the blades.
